Energy Assessment
Sellers and landlords are responsible under the regulations for providing energy performance certificates (EPC's) on their properties when these are sold or rented.
Builders are required under the Building Regulations 2000 to provide EPC's for newly constructed buildings.
For all sales or letting in both the domestic and non domestic sector an EPC must be made available to any prospective buyers or tenants at the earliest opportunity. An EPC made available for these purposes must be accompanied by its recommendation report. EPC certificates are valid for 10 years
